TeamVIE has continued to make giant strides in Awka South Constituency A, creating impact and bridging the social gap that has hitherto divided the people.
Recently, the team, led by its pragmatic and charismatic leader, Hon. Emeka Igwe paid an important courtesy call to the home of Otachalu Ifite, which, in English translation, means, the oldest in Ifite Kingdom.
Igwe considered the visit to Elder Jeremiah Nnebeife Okeke (Chukwukadibia), the Otachalu Ifite as very symbolic to him because it foster great relationship between the young and the older generation and recognising and appreciating elders this way instill in our youth the important of respect and preservation of our culture, of which, they are the bastions.
“Elders are integral to everything we are. They are our teachers, advisors, mediators and friends”, the PDP standard bearer for Anambra State House of Assembly, Awka South Constituency A, noted.
“Our elders have been instrumental in helping develop our language and preserving our culture, therefore they deserve all our support”, he added.
Nnayelugo Awka who identified the need to connect the youths with the elders as key to preserving culture and language, and create a stronger sense of community, promised to achieve that immediately he gets to the State House of Assembly with the support and vote of his constituents.
